The young Gers ran out 4-2 winners over Blackpool Under-21s at the Rangers Training Centre, scoring three times in the second half to take the game away from their English opponents.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, McCallum commented: "We have players on the pitch who can make a difference. Our challenge to them is play for the team and what we want to be, but there's nothing to stop you being individual. We have key players who can do that, and the goals we scored today certainly highlights that.
"We always need to remember that, although it was good to score four goals, we want the individuals and the team to perform really strong as well. We want to keep pushing those standards and levels, irrespective of the opposition.
"I just felt today that we saw good bits, but also inconsistent parts. The part which challenged us most was the final 15 minutes when we lost a goal trying to play through pressure, which is fine, but when that pressure comes and we keep making the same decisions, we need to change it. That's the personality of the individuals on the pitch.
"If we keep playing in front of them, stop doing that and change the game. If we're going to play in there, we need to make sure the quality remains high, and we find a way to retain the ball."
Although McCallum was pleased with the individual quality on display for all four goals, he admits that there were areas of his side's performance which requires a closer look.
He added: "It was probably a little more inconsistent than we have been in recent games. We were good at times with the ball, getting to areas in the pitch that we want to be in, but we were a little bit impatient and rushed to get to the end point.
"Our first goal was excellent. We have spoken an awful lot about when we get to crossing situations, can we attack the penalty box at pace? The ball that comes in gives us a real chance to attack, and I thought Robbie has put a great ball in for the first goal. We had two or three moments in the first half similar to that, which was pleasing.
"We were a little bit passive out of possession after that, and I don't think we turned up the intensity well enough. The equaliser felt a little bit easy.
"We started the second half really well with an excellent goal from Arron Lyall. We want to play in the attacking half and spend time there, but often someone needs to do something a little bit different.
"Josh [McPake] does similar with an individual moment, then Paul [Nsio] does well from a regain moment for the fourth goal. I thought we showed more energy in the second half, but I feel inconsistent was the best way to describe it."
