Demi Vance: Thrilled To Be Back

DEMI VANCE was thrilled to get back on the pitch yesterday afternoon as she made her first appearance in eight months after recovering from a long-term injury.

The Northern Ireland international ruptured her ACL while on international duty in November 2020 and admitted there were times when she doubted she would get back playing as she went through the gruelling rehab process.

Speaking to RangersTV after the 8-0 victory over Queen’s Park, she said: “I am exhausted, it was good to get 30 minutes under my belt and hopefully I can push on from there. It has been a rollercoaster so I am happy to be back on the pitch.

“Over the past eight months there were times that I doubted I was ever going to be back on the pitch so this was the day I was looking forward to for a long time so I am pleased.”

Reflecting on the victory over Queen’s Park, Vance says there’s always room for improvement as Gers look to build on their first competitive game of the season.

She continued: “It was good I thought we kept the ball well and I thought we attacked very well and that is obviously what we have been focussing on in pre-season.

“I think it showed today we have been working on a lot of plays and stuff over the last four five weeks and it paid off.

“We are happy to score eight goals with it being the first league cup game so we will build on that again and there's always room for improvement. We've still got another four or five games this month so each game we will build on it.”
