Devine: "Everyone Is Delighted"

ADAM Devine believes Rangers U19’s played well despite the challenging weather conditions against Septemvri Sofia this evening as they progressed through to the next round of the UEFA Youth League.

The Young Gers look ahead to the next round of the tournament after beating Ivan Nedelchev Geshev’s side 7-2 on aggregate over the two legs of the tie.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after their second win of the tie, the youngster believes that the squad performed well to win on aggregate and to gain a clean sheet.

He said: “Everyone is delighted to get through to the next round, I thought under the conditions that we played really well. They were coming for us in the second half, but we got the few goals that we needed.

“We’ve not had a clean sheet in a while so it’s obviously good to get that, but everyone else is delighted with the clean sheet. We always come into these games knowing that we are going to create chances and we took those chances tonight, it could’ve been a few more but we are happy with the result.”

The Light Blue expressed his excitement to progress to the next round of the competition and looks ahead to the draw on Tuesday next week.

He added: “Everybody is delighted for it; we’re going to get what we wanted coming into this tournament to compete against one of the biggest teams in the world. Hopefully, we can go out and put on a performance against them and get the same result.”
