The left-back insists the squad will continue to work hard to improve as they prepare for the return of the Scottish Premiership next week.
A first-half double from Malik Tillman and a second-half goal from Scott Arfield were the difference in a positive display from the Light Blues this afternoon.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Devine said: “It was a difficult game, we knew coming into the game they are a great side, and they are one of the better teams in Europe, so we knew we needed to be up to the challenge.
“I think throughout the game we matched their challenge, we knew they had a few key players and I think we handled them well and kept them away from our goal.
“Under the new manager he wants us to play a certain way and I think we carried that game plan out today. Obviously, we can still improve some bits but overall we are happy with the performance.
“As the manager said, at Rangers you don't play friendlies, so every game counts and we wanted to get a clean sheet today and we made that mark and got the clean sheet.”
Devine played 85 minutes this afternoon and the 19-year-old hopes he can continue to impress moving forward.
He added: “I haven't played in a wee while, my last game was Queen of the South so I have been working hard and trying to get my opportunity and I am grateful to the manager for giving me that opportunity today.
“You can see the way he wants the players to play, the intensity in training is right up and everybody wants to fight for their position so it has been excellent.”
Looking ahead to Hibs in the league on Thursday evening, Devine added: “We want to go into Hibs on Thursday, and we want to win that game as well. It is a must win game so I'm sure the fans will be here and if we can turn up then I'm sure we can get a good result.”
