The young Ger expressed his emotions to reach the final of the tournament after knocking out Tommy McIntyre’s side in a tense penalty shootout.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after securing their place in the final, he said: “Everybody is absolutely buzzing, I thought the boys were the better team once again, but we had to dig deep once again after going behind twice in the game. I thought we showed real character and deservedly won the game.
“We heard before the game that they had a few first-team players, but as we said before we believe in ourselves no matter who we come up against. We showed that again today and we got to the final.
“We’re really happy, we knew coming into this game that the Lowland League didn’t go to plan for us, but it was a chance for us to win silverware, we’re going to push to the final and try and get the trophy.”
The Light Blue outlined the resilience shown by the team to come back from a goal down twice during the match, with Lewis Budinauckas making some important saves to keep the score level.
He continued: “Against teams like this, sometimes in a semi-final it’s going to go against you at times, but if you’ve got a confident goalkeeper behind you can always depend on them and today, we depended on him, and it got us through to the final.
“That’s always an abundance from the team that whatever happens we just need to fix it and trust in ourselves, it showed again the trust that we have come through and we deserved to win the game.
“It was nerve-wracking [penalty shootout], but again we trust the ability in ourselves. Everyone that stepped up did excellent and credit to Budinauckas.”
