The Light Blues took the lead through Mia McAulay in the second period at Broadwood Stadium, but they were quickly pegged back when the visitors levelled almost immediately.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, the Gers captain said: “I think we knew we could have done a lot better in the first half in terms of keeping the ball. I don’t think we kept the ball well enough as a team, but we addressed it at half-time and I think we came out in the second half and managed to do it a lot better.
“We’re delighted that the second half was a lot better, but for us it was about how we conceded that goal. We’re grateful that we got a better second half out of us.
“The number of chances that we created in the second half especially, and the ones which came right across the six-yard line, we need to be more relentless in front of goal and make sure we put those chances away. It’s good to create chances, but it’s important to put them away in these big matches against Glasgow City.
“It’s a positive in terms of three games in a week, and we haven’t lost any of the games either.”
17-year-old McAulay encapsulated Rangers’ renewed energy after the interval as her fine finish fired the home side ahead, and the experienced Docherty couldn’t be happier for the youngster as she also looked ahead to next weekend’s challenge against Partick Thistle.
She continued: “Mia has been excellent in the second half and we’ve improved a lot. She’s different level in terms of the pace that she has, and when she’s so positive in her one-on-ones it’s very difficult to keep up with her.
“She’s such a quality player to play against in training, and such an exciting young talent who will hopefully continue that.
“It’s one game at a time at this club, that’s all you can do, but for us we need to rest and recover after three games in a week, and we’ll be raring to go for the next match.”
