The two teams cancelled each other out in the opening 45 minutes as they went in at the break goalless before Mia McAulay got herself on the scoresheet for the second home match running to put the hosts in front.
City responded shortly after however through Brenna Lovera with then Gers unable to find a winner towards the end of the contest despite creating several chances.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match the head coach feels there were positive to take from the game and says the side could have come away from the match with a victory.
She said: “I think we dominated, we grew into the game, we certainly created enough chances to put the game to bed. It could have been a bit of a whitewash at the end but we certainly deserved more than one goal but it wasn’t to be. It is a tough week, I do keep saying it but three games in a week, looking back on it you don’t want to lose that game, you certainly want to win it but you don’t want to lose it.
The head coach praised the team for their fast start to the second half after finding the opener shortly after the restart although was left frustrated by the timing of the equaliser just minutes later.
She continued: “I just said to the players that we need to be a little bit braver; we need to possess the ball for longer periods of time. I thought we turned over the ball on a regain a bit too quickly.
“I wanted them to get that composure back into their game and find their way into the game, they certainly came back out in the second half stronger, the much better team.
“In the end I am disappointed not to take all three, I think we deserved it but it was a big thing not to lose that game today.
“That is one thing, we needed to stay in the game for periods of time. We knew that it is tough to keep going against that team and keep sustaining attacks. I though Mia was outstanding again, she took her goal exceptionally well, created another few chances as well, I am delighted for her.
“That is the frustrating part, when we get our noses in front and we feel comfortable and in control just to concede a goal like that. I need to look at it back again but we will certainly be analysing that come Tuesday morning.
The Light Blues will now have a full week to prepare for their next clash as they host Partick Thistle next Sunday and Potter is happy the team will have more time to ready themselves for the fixture after a demanding three-game week.
She added: “I have said it before, we never take any team lightly. There is things on that game that I want us to improve on but there is also things that we did exceptionally well. Again the girls have rotated and accepted a change and took it on board superbly, it is tough on them so just being able to have a day off tomorrow and then hit the ground running for a fresh week will be good.”
