RANGERS can today confirm Eilidh Austin has joined Motherwell on loan for the remainder of the season.
The youngster, who is a product of the club’s youth academy, signed her first professional contract with the Gers in the summer of 2023 before signing a two-year extension last year.
She has featured in 11 outings for Jo Potter’s side this campaign but will now join up with the fellow SWPL side to gain further experience having enjoyed a previous temporary spell with Hamilton in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies said: “Eilidh signed a new contract with the club this summer, and we see her as an important player for the club.
“As we’ve seen with Laura Berry, it’s incredibly important for young players to continue to play as often as possible at this age as we look to accelerate their learning and development.
“We know Paul and the staff at Motherwell have an excellent programme, and their team continue to be tough competition for us, so we are excited to see what Eilidh can do with more regular game time.”
