Emma Watson Delighted To Get On The Scoresheet

YOUNG midfielder Emma Watson was delighted to get on the scoresheet as Rangers beat Stenhousemuir 14-1 to progress in the Scottish Women’s Cup.

The 15-year-old opened the scoring inside the first minute as her corner crossed the line to give Malky Thomson’s side an early lead.

Watson feels it was important Rangers showed their clinical side at Ochilview. Speaking at full-time, she said: “I think we did really well today, we kept the ball and in the final third we were really ruthless, we put the ball in the net and it was a good result.

“It was really important to get the ball in the back of the net and get the momentum going and just to be really clinical in the finishing.

“I am buzzing to get the start, some assists and a goal as well so I am really pleased.”

Watson has been a regular around the first-team this season and feels she is continuing to see the benefits of that.

She added: “It is great to get these opportunities and to be playing alongside the likes of Tessel Middag and Chelsea Cornet. For me learning from these players is a great experience.

“It is  improving all aspects of my game, physically, tactically and technically. I think it is going really well.

“It is a great challenge, I thrive on challenge and I am just loving every minute of it.”
