The young Ger was the first to open the scoring in their 5-0 win against the North Lanarkshire side this afternoon and expressed her delight to secure their place in the next stage of the cup campaign.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV following their win, she said: “I think it was a great win today, everyone gave their all and we won 5-0 - it was a great team performance today.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to score, it’s always an honour to score for this club. I think scoring the first goal gave us that bit of confidence going into the game, so I think it was vital to score when we did.
“I think throughout the match, we dominated possession, we had control of the game and I think second half we went out and we were clinical in our finishing, and we added more goals.”
“We just had to keep going, trust in the process and do what we do, keep the ball, and create chances, and try not to force it because it will come.
“They [Motherwell] did have some opportunities but defensively we were great, kept a clean sheet so we were happy.”
Watson emphasised the importance to gain more minutes under her belt as the squad look to positively kick on with the competition.
She added: “It’s vital to get more minutes every week and to play for Rangers and to play for this big club, I’m just constantly learning and want to keep improving and get better.
“We’re buzzing to get through to the next round and we’ll just keep going and go all the way.”
