Fan Engagement Update

Fan Advisory Board

As part of our Supporter Engagement Strategy, Rangers announced our intention to create a Fan Advisory Board (FAB) that will act as a representative voice of the supporters and provide regular feedback to the club’s board and senior management.

We are pleased to announce the selection panel for the FAB, who will oversee the application and election process and ensure that the FAB is who will represent the diversity and interests of the Rangers fanbase. The selection panel members are:

  • Greg Marshall - Rangers FC Head of Fan Engagement

  • John Gilligan - Well known Rangers supporter and former board member

  • Ashley Brown - Head of Governance and Supporter Engagement at the Football Supporters Association (FSA)

Greg Marshall said: “We are delighted to have John and Ashley on board as part of the selection panel. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise in fan engagement and governance, and they share our vision of creating a Fan Advisory Board that will enhance the relationship between the club and the fans.”

John Gilligan continued: “I am honoured to be part of this initiative, which I believe will be a positive step for the club and the fans. I look forward to working with Greg and Ashley to ensure that the Fan Advisory Board is a success.”

Ashley Brown added: “I am pleased to support Rangers in setting up their Fan Advisory Board, which is a great example of how clubs can engage with their fans in a meaningful way. I hope that this will inspire other clubs to follow suit and adopt best practice in fan engagement.”

All supporters who are interested in being part of the FAB are encouraged to apply and make their voices heard. Further details on how to apply, what the criteria are, and what the role entails will follow soon.

Singing Section Trials

Rangers Football Club is committed to creating a vibrant and passionate atmosphere at Ibrox Stadium, and the club appreciates the role the fans play in supporting the team. As part of the club’s fan engagement initiatives, four singing section trials have been undertaken since the beginning of the season, where a designated area has been allocated for supporters who wish to sing and chant throughout the match.

The club have received a great deal of feedback from supporters regarding these trials and would like to record their thanks to everyone who has shared their views. A supporter collaboration session was recently held in Edmiston House to engage with supporters regarding the proposal, where various aspects of the trial were discussed. You can review a summary of the session .

The club understands this is an important issue for many fans, and wants to ensure that everyone has a chance to have their say. Therefore, a survey will be issued to all supporters regarding an expanded singing section, where preferences and opinions on various aspects of the proposal can be put forward. The survey will be sent out via email and social media in the next few days, and the club encourages all supporters to participate to help make an informed decision.
