STEVEN GERRARD has called for greater consistency when implementing the current Scottish FA disciplinary processes.
Boss Gerrard and the club’s board have been discussing ways to assist the game’s governing body in improving the current compliance officer system.
The Rangers manager was asked at this morning what concerns he had over the disciplinary process, and commented: “Consistencies. That is my answer, consistencies. I think that is what every manager wants – a level of consistency and for every player or every incident to be judged in the same way so we find that level of consistency.
“I think that will really help the league going forward.”
The manager was also asked about the reasoning behind the club’s move to reduce external noise around such issues and general club business was, and he continued: "As a club, it is something we have spoken about in great detail, and together, everyone is aligned and we have tried to dial the noise down around the club - the unnecessary noise.
"Part of that is to accept the ban for Alfredo.
"Having said that, that doesn't say we are pleased with everything that happened in that game, or has happened during this season and previous seasons.
"It is something behind the scenes myself and the board are working very hard on in-terms of trying to find better solutions in-terms of the disciplinary and the processes that go on.
"It is something we will continue to try and be as supportive to in-terms of the authorities to try and make things better and more consistent.”
