Scott Wright Looking Forward To Getting Started

A PROUD Scott Wright hopes he can continue to improve as a player at Rangers after signing a four-and-a-half year deal.

The 23-year-old shared his delight at joining the club and says he is looking forward to learning from his new teammates.

Speaking to RangersTV after arriving in Glasgow, he said: “It is a fantastic feeling for me personally and is a very proud moment for myself and my family.

“Obviously I agreed a pre-contract about a week ago but the draw to come to the club now was always big and I am delighted it is over the line and I am here as a Rangers player.

“It will be great to learn from the other players. They are obviously fantastic players and as you can see from the league position just now they are on top form.

“It is important for me to come in and learn first but I am here to drive competition and try to win a place in the team.

“The welcome I have had here has been fantastic. I feel like I have worked with them already. They have been so welcoming but I am really looking forward to coming in now and getting started.

“I am an attacking player, I want to get fans off their seats and I want to be exciting. I feel like I fit in to the way Rangers play - I like to be direct and get at the opponent.”

Wright says the chance to work with Steven Gerrard and his management team is one he is looking forward to.

He continued: “It was another big draw, it is going to be a fantastic experience for me. I have spoken to the gaffer and his management team and it is something I am really excited to do to come in and work with them.

“The conversations I have had with them have been positive and I feel I can definitely improve here as a player.

“The most important thing for me is to be positive and to come in with an attitude to learn every day and learn from my teammates as well as the management.”

Wright has already experienced a full Ibrox as a visiting player but can’t wait for the opportunity to run out in a Rangers shirt.

He continued: “It is something I am really looking forward to, unfortunately due to current circumstances it is going to be an empty Ibrox.

For me as a player the fans are something you can thrive off of and I know that from when I played against them. The fans are the 12th man and they drive the team on.

“It is something I am really looking forward to when the fans can come back in and watch the team play.”
