Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe, Scott Arfield and James Tavernier were all on target in the victory, with the Light Blues again reaching a very high level of performance.
Speaking to RangersTV, boss Gerrard said: "I'm very pleased and very proud of the players' performance. I thought the application and the level was really top today.
"Our movement, our interchanging and our quality in the final third was outstanding and I've nothing but praise for the players.
"It was another clean sheet, so everyone is buying in to what we are trying to do in and out of possession.
"We should have had another penalty so I thought we were dominant and strong throughout.
"Ryan Kent had another chance before he scored, but he got his goal and his assist today, and he is just a threat throughout.
"Ryan is in a fantastic place and we are almost pulling him back. He could have stayed on the pitch, but with Thursday night, we need a big performance from Ryan.
"Kemar's movement - he has brought a lot to the party. He is up to speed and he is looking fit now - he is in a great place so we have got a lot of options.
"I brought Cedric [Itten], Ianis [Hagi] and Jermain [Defoe] on, and they all had chances in the game and kept the level really high.
"Look, we are in a fantastic place but we can't get carried away as there are a lot of challenges to come, but, I'd much rather be where we are."
Once again, Rangers made a lightning start to the match, with Gerrard continuing: "We made a big emphasis on us not having our crowd with us, and they are a big help for us and they get behind the team a lot.
"So not having that behind us, it is important we don't start slow and we come out fast and try to get to our level as quickly as we can - especially after an international break and after Europe - it is challenging as the players are tired, they have travelled a lot and they would have an excuse.
"But they are not using any excuses - they are really focused, they are in a good place and there is a real belief about them at the moment."
It’s onto Benfica in the Europa League on Thursday for Gers, with Gerrard adding: "It is a big challenge, it's a fantastic challenge, but what a game for the players to play in.
"We have just had a fantastic game against them which we should have won and we are disappointed with how it finished.
"But we are hoping Thursday night is going to be pivotal - we are going to go foot to the floor, we will be ready and we are going to try and be as aggressive as we can and try to get another three points to put us closer to qualification."
