Gers were outstanding in their victory here in Lanarkshire today, with James Tavernier and Cedric Itten both netting doubles and Jordan Jones also getting on the scoresheet.
Gerrard told RangersTV: "It was really strong. I think the boys on the back of Thursday night have turned up today and put in a fantastic performance across the board.
"It was all really strong and out standards were strong until the very end, and it was nice to see our strength in-depth in-terms of the squad and nice to be able to use people today and give them minutes and save people with an eye on Thursday night.
"We were [clinical] and we are scoring a lot of goals. We were disappointed obviously last week at Hibs with the couple we conceded so we still have to make sure we stay on the lads in-terms of the standards and the detail about defending.
"But, all-in-all, it was a comfortable afternoon but it was comfortable because of how good we were in and out of possession - we tried something different tactically today as we knew they were playing with wing-backs, so our full-backs were allowed to stay and help us build a little bit deeper, and it worked very well.
"We played some magnificent stuff, got in the right areas and when our chances came along, we took them."
Captain Tavernier was again outstanding – indeed, he had the most touches of any player on the park today with 89.
The manager continued on his skipper and Calvin Bassey: "Both full-backs were really good - Calvin on his debut, away at Motherwell, it's not an easy place to come and make your debut from the start, so I am pleased for him.
"Tav's standards are really good at the moment and they were two fantastic penalties, but defensively, and going forward, he was right at it today on the back of a shift he put in on Thursday night as well.
"So I am pleased for James and that is the type of leadership we are looking for."
Itten’s double was his first two for the club, and it was clear how much it meant to him and all his teammates for him to get off the mark.
The manager said: "Forwards thrive on goals - they bring confidence and he has been unlucky on a couple of occasions, so it was great for him and he is smiling, happy, and hopefully, that will be the catalyst for many more to come."
Jordan Jones came into the side today for his first start of the season, and he also grabbed his first goal in the blue of Rangers.
Gerrard explained: "He deserved his opportunity as he came in on Thursday and put in a real, strong cameo.
“He has been training well, he seems focused, he has his head down and that is the real Jordan Jones we saw today - pace, a threat, quality, taking goals - I won't settle for any less than that as I know he can bring what he can bring, and that is the reason why we brought him into the club."
