The pacey winger had a terrific day at Fir Park as Gers put five past Motherwell, and afterwards, he said to RangersTV: "I'm over the moon. I've waited a long time for my goal and a long time to get a chance to start a game, so I'm over the moon."
The most important thing was we got the three points today - it's not an easy place to come, and to come and score five goals is something we can all be proud of."
Jones’ goal came from a super pass from Sky Sport’s Man of the Match, Scott Arfield – indeed the Canadian captain’s pass accuracy of 93 per-cent was the highest in the game.
Jones continued: "I thought Scott was fantastic all day today. It was a great ball through and once I had the first touch I thought I'd swing my left foot at it and thankfully it went in the far corner."”

After I knew yesterday I was going to be starting, they all got round me again and helped me with my confidence, so I can't speak highly enough of them - Tav [James Tavernier], Arfield, Connor [Goldson] - they have all been fantastic with me and I thank them for that."
Cedric Itten also got off the mark for the Light Blues with a double today, and Jones added: "Everyone is delighted for him. It's not easy coming into this football club, especially from abroad.
"He is a lovely lad and everyone was absolutely delighted for him to get two goals and it's fantastic for him."It’s now onto Thursday for the Light Blues with Galatasaray standing between Gers and a place in the Europa League group stages.
Jones would love to be involved again and said: "I won't get ahead of myself. I know how quick football can change and I have seen that a couple of times now, especially at a big club.
"So I just need to take it one step at a time and if I am put in for Thursday, then hopefully I can produce a performance.
"If not, then you have to be a good teammate and help the lads as much as I can so I am looking forward to it."
