Goals from Lizzie Arnot, Clare Gemmell and an own goal sealed the victory for Malky Thomson’s side at Station Park.
The Gers boss named one change to the side from last week as Daina Bourma came into the starting team with Chelsea Cornet missing out due to injury.
There was boost for the Gers squad as Megan Bell and Sonia O’Neill were named on the bench for the first time this season as they both return from injury.
It was a fairly quiet start to the match with neither side having any real opportunities in the first 15 minutes.
Rangers forced a few corners early on as they tried to break down Forfar, but were unable to test Fiona McNicoll in the Forfar goal.
However, the breakthrough did come for the Light Blues on the 15th minute as Brogan Hay drove down the right and delivered a ball into the box. Forfar centre-back Jade Lindsay got a touch on the cross but she turned it into her own net to give Rangers an early advantage.
Kirsten Reilly saw a shot from the edge of the box held by Fiona McNicoll before Forfar’s London Pollard had a chance at the other end which was smothered by Rangers number one Jenna Fife.
Rangers were awarded a penalty on the 34th minute as Jade Lindsay brought down Zoe Ness just as she was about to get a shot away in the box.
Lizzie Arnot stepped up to the spot with her initial effort saved by Fiona McNicoll but Arnot reacted quick to tap home the rebound.
Forfar had one back just a minute later as Donna Paterson curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Zoe Ness came close to adding a third for Rangers as she latched on the end of a ball over the top to touch it towards goal but McNicoll was out quick to block the effort. Into the second-half, McNicoll again denied Zoe Ness as she got full stretch to push wide the
Rangers striker’s shot. From the resulting corner, Kirsten Reilly headed the ball down into the path of Ness but her touch went just wide of the post.
Billie Simpson shot wide for Forfar, before she again had a shot at the Rangers goal shortly after but it was held by Jenna Fife.
The Gers continued to search for that third goal as Emma Brownlie’s cross was headed just wide by Zoe Ness.
With 15 minutes of the game remaining, good build-up play from Rangers saw Nicola Docherty feed the ball forward to Lizzie Arnot who broke down the left. Arnot delivered a ball into the box but the Forfar keeper was quick to deny Zoe Ness a shot at goal.
Rangers had the ball in the net on the 76th minute as Emma Brownlie tapped in a Nicola Docherty cross but the linesman flagged for offside.
