The Light Blues will be looking to build on the strong attacking display produced in the 4-1 victory over Aberdeen last weekend as they aim to sign off for the World Cup break on a high later this month.
Speaking to the media ahead of the fixture, the Gers boss assessed the challenge that St. Johnstone will pose: "We faced it in the home game, when they played quite defensively, and we had a comfortable game. It's the decisions that you make against a block that is defending very deep and as a tight unit. That will probably be the case on Sunday so we have to make the right decisions and attack the right spaces.
“It's different than in a home game, like for example against Aberdeen. We have an idea of how the opposition will play so we have to make the right decisions and have a positive approach to the game like we did last week.
"It's important to start really well in every game and score quick - I think last year we scored in the second minute [away to St. Johnstone]. That always helps when you're defending against teams that play really low to open up spaces, because they have to come out to score. That's very important.
“The longer that you haven't scored, the more defensive that they will be. It's very important to start well, create chances and score, but also to be patient and don't let the impatience of not scoring affect your game.”
Van Bronckhorst also expressed his delight after Antonio Colak was named SPFL Player of the Month for September and October.
He continued: "I'm happy with his performances so far. He's settled in really quickly and scored a lot of important goals. His adaptation has been pretty good. I think Borna [Barisic] has helped with his adaptation to Glasgow.
“He's a very open character. He's a nice character to have around, not only for the staff but also for the players. He's well-liked in the dressing room so it's very positive to see his contributions for Rangers so far.”
