Goalscorer Quinty Sabajo Credits Club Environment

QUINTY SABAJO was on the scoresheet for Rangers this afternoon and has credited the environment at the club for helping her settle into life in Glasgow.

The midfielder arrived in September and netted her first away league goal in today’s dominant 3-0 victory over Motherwell in Lanarkshire.

Speaking to RangersTV after the triumph, Sabajo said: “I’m struggling with the Scottish language! It can be hard in meetings, but the girls help me a lot.

“They have helped me feel at home and they are very kind.

“I’m taking it day-by-day and I know I’ll be alright if I’m patient. I have full belief in the team and myself.

“Ibrox last week was crazy. I’ve never saw it before [in my career].

“There were screams from all sides, and the atmosphere was good to see. I really like the fans.

“How much have I enjoyed learning under Leanne Crichton? She’s quite relaxed but also with a passion and purpose. I can feel it when she speaks and I’ve enjoyed it.

“She’s demanding of the girls which I like, and it’s very good.”

Sabajo doubled the side’s advantage in the second period after Katie Wilkinson broke the deadlock in a first half display which merited more than the solitary goal.

Rangers kept their foot to the floor after the interval as Laura Berry’s well-taken strike supplemented Sabajo’s volley to put the seal on a terrific afternoon.

On the performance, the midfielder added: “I enjoyed it. We had a plan and done good, plus the energy from the girls was good. I enjoyed today.

“We had a lot of opportunities, but we still won and that’s all that matters.

“What do I remember about my goal? I think Eilidh [Austin] cut it across and I just shot. It happened so fast, but they all count."
