The Light Blues are back in action after the international break as they look to continue their fantastic league form against the side currently sitting bottom of the table.
Speaking to the press ahead of the clash at Ibrox the defender is still expecting a test and says the table doesn’t represent what type of side they will be facing at three o’clock tomorrow.
He said: “Since Dundee United have got promoted since I have been here they have always been a hard force, tough to break down and have threats going forward, so I am expecting a tough game.
“I don't think their position in the league shows the kind of team that they are, they have always been a good team and obviously now they have got a new manager, I am sure they will be looking to win games of football.”
The centre-back believes the time off since their last outing has been productive and has allowed the side to work on further things despite their impressive form as they target a strong end to the season.
He continued: “We can work on everything, there is a lot to improve, we are in a good vein of form but at the same we have got so many improvements to make.
“We have had a good week of training and then a few of the international boys have come back this week, it has been another good week and now we need to show it tomorrow against Dundee United.”
The Englishman has hailed fellow defender John Souttar who made his return from long term injury in the recent victory over Kilmarnock and believes his return to fitness only enhances competition for places throughout the squad.
He added: “John has really impressed me, he did in pre-season before he got injured and obviously he has been really unfortunate, he has been really impressive in training, deserved the minutes that he has got coming in, hopefully he can just build that fitness up and start to get involved more regularly.
“Competition is important at this football club, I think that everyone needs to have that, this football club needs to win so we all need to be at the top level of our game to make sure that happens.”
Goldson feels having a settled back four since the arrival of the manager in December has helped and it has shown with their consistent league form having won their last nine games, with the 30-year-old praising teammate Ben Davies and the partnership they formed in that time.
He said: “I think it has shown in results, just to have a consistency of Ben and I being fit, he was out for a long time, now you have John Souttar coming back and pushing the two of us, Borna has been fit for a longer period of time as well.
“It has helped the team in general, just having a bit of settled base and being able to work frequently day in day out together, I think we should have more clean sheets that we have got, especially since I have been back fit it is something that we need to improve on and we need to start keeping more, but as a whole as a defensive unit we been limiting other teams and not giving away too many chances.
“I am enjoying it, he is a very good player, calm and someone I don't really need to speak to as much, he plays his own game and I know that he plays to a standard that is good, I don't really need to control him.
“I can just let him play and it is similar with me, obviously when we need to talk to each other we do, but on the whole he is good to play with, he has lovely left foot and also knows how to defend which is important.”
