OUR OPPONENTS
Celtic head into the match off the back of two draws in the Lowland League, drawing 1-1 at home to both Spartans and Cumbernauld Colts respectively.
Stephen McManus’ side’s last defeat came on 8 February away to Stirling University before going on a four game winning streak before their last two outings. They currently occupy third place in the table, two points behind the Gers having played the same number of games.
PREVIOUS MEETING
The Gers fell to a 5-2 defeat when the sides last met at Celtic Park on 30 December last year in the Lowland League.
The Light Blues went ahead twice in the game, with Charlie McCann and James Graham scoring in either half, but a late flurry of goals from the hosts condemned the away side to defeat in their final outing of 2022.
OUR FORM
The Gers haven’t featured in the league since their 3-0 win over Edinburgh University on 11 March, with the next fixture against Caledonian Braves five days later getting postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Arron Lyall was the star of the show producing a double in the capital with two well taken goals before Zak Lovelace added a third as David McCallum’s side got back to winning ways in the Lowland League having gone two games without a victory.
The Light Blues have four games left of their second season in the league as they currently sit in second place in the table, looking to chase down current leaders Spartans who sit top of the pile by four points having played a game more as the fifth tier of Scottish football approaches its conclusion.
