Gers picked up another three points this afternoon with a dominant 8-0 victory away to Aberdeen and Hay believes it was important the squad didn’t get frustrated as they searched for the breakthrough.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, she said: “The pleasing thing for us is to get the eight goals and keep a clean sheet but I think the important thing was that we found a way to get our first breakthrough goal.
“The key to our season is to not get frustrated when we don't score as soon as we would like to. It is about trying to be patient and find the gaps to exploit their weaknesses and use our strengths. Once we find our way to get that breakthrough goal we can go on and show what we are about.
“Whether you start or come on as a sub you make sure you make an impact and it is important because at the end of the day we are all in this together, we just stick together as a team and I think we will always find a way to get the goals.”
Hay was delighted to get 90 minutes under her belt as the squad prepare for a big week of Champions League football.
She continued: “I am delighted to get the 90 minutes and get the start today, I think it is about trying to find that rhythm and get back into the schedule. Training and playing games comes at you fast so it is important we have got a big squad and we can use the strength and depth with the players coming off the bench and making an impact today as well.
“It is our first taste of Champions League football and we are absolutely buzzing. It is what everyone wants to do so we just need to rest and recover and our main focus turns to Thursday.
“It is a big game for us and I'm sure the staff will make sure we are ready for this and as players we just need to show what we are about and we are hungry for a win anywhere we go so we are really looking forward to it.”
