Four goals in each half saw Rangers dominate at Balmoral Stadium and Thomson was delighted with the way they executed the game plan.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “It is really pleasing, we asked them prior to the game to be relentless. We weren't sure of how Aberdeen would try to play against us, whether they would press us or whether they would sit off us so it was really down to the girls in the moment to decide and find solutions to whatever shape and type of style they were going to play against us.
“There’s a big pitch here, a fantastic facility so again early on it was about creating width and trying to exploit areas and the three key things that we spoke before the game I think the girls executed really well.”
With 22 goals in the opening two league games, Thomson said the challenge for the squad will be to maintain the performances going forward this campaign.
He continued: “Every game we are going to play is going to be a different challenge and as time goes on the challenge may be can we keep repeating those types of performances
“That's down to us as a staff and the girls as a team when they cross the white line but I am pleased at the fact that we made changes to the team today, made the substitutions and it was like for like the players we were bringing on.
“We have got some youth players there who came on the pitch and we are classing our youth players now as part of our first team group so I am really pleased with the way the girls have taken that on board and they have that confidence about themselves.”
Rangers’ focus now turns to Champions League action on Thursday as they come up against Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.
He continued: “It is a big test and that is what we want, we want to challenge ourselves. It will be interesting for us to go out there having the pre-season we have had and the start we have had to the league. Ferencvaros have played their first league game as well and they scored seven goals so it'll be a test but it is a test the girls are really looking forward to.”
