Goals from Hannah Davison and Chelsea Cornet powered the Gers through to a second cup final of the season as they dispatched Motherwell in front of over 1,500 fans in Glasgow’s south side.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, the Rangers captain conveyed her delight: “We’re pleased to get through to the final as that was our aim at the start of today. The performance could have been better, but it’s been a tough week for us if you look at the week that we’ve had. We’re just pleased to be in that cup final.
“[The fans] always come out in their numbers and we appreciate their support. That’s why we always spend time with them at the end. Hopefully we can see the same faces, and even more of them, at the final as well.”
Malky Thomson’s side enjoyed control in the match throughout, registering a well-deserved clean sheet as they found both goals via corner routines at the opposite end.
Hill was pleased at the manner of the two goals, insisting that the victory should stand the side in good stead during the SWPL run-in.
She continued: “We’ve been working a lot on set-pieces this season. We’ve worked on them defensively, but also attacking them as well and you can see it’s starting to come off.
“The clean sheet is pleasing. Any chances or half chances they had were all from our own doing. The main aim of today was to get into the final and we’ve done that.
“We’ve got ourselves into a good position in the league with the result on Wednesday night. You could see we put a lot into that match. It’s almost like six cup finals between now and the end of the season. We’ve got a couple of days off now, so we’ll rest and recover. We know what’s at stake and we need to make sure we’re ready for that.”
