The midfielder headed home the second goal late in the game to seal a place in next month’s final at the national stadium.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Cornet said: “It was a tough game, and we knew coming into it that it was going to be like that. Fair play to Motherwell, they made it tough for us, but we have come away with the win and we are into the final and that is all we could’ve wanted from today.
“It is all about finding solutions and we managed to do that. When we are faced with teams like that sometimes it takes us a wee bit of time, but we do eventually find the solution and that is the most important thing.
“It is always nice to get on the scoresheet but ultimately getting the team through to the final was the most important thing and as a team we have managed to do that and credit to the whole squad.”
It was a historic day for the women’s game in Scotland, with Hannah Davison’s opening goal the first women’s domestic club goal to be scored at Hampden Park.
A crowd of over 1,500 turned out for the match and Cornet said there are many positives the squad can take away from the experience.
She continued: “It was unbelievable, it is a massive step within the women's game and to be here at Hampden is huge. As a youngster you always dream of coming to play here and to be able to do that with your club is special - there are so many positives from this experience.
“It has been a massive week for us, and we just want to keep building on that momentum. Keeping the positivity within the team is crucial and as I said we just need to keep on working on us.”
