The young Ger reflected on the way the team played today as they now look to the next round of the tournament.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after the squad’s positive performance in the cup, he said: “I thought we started a bit slow in the first half, we were a bit sloppy in possession which gave them a few chances. I think in the second half, the substitutes made an impact, and we went on to win the game quite comfortably.
“We just had to keep on doing what we were doing, I think we were creating chances, but we weren’t hitting the back of the net – that happens sometimes, the keeper made some good saves we just had to keep going and get a goal."
Hogarth added that it was important to maintain a clean sheet after he made some critical saves and a penalty kick as the team now head to the semi final of the competition.
He added: “I’m very pleased, it’s another clean sheet which is what we went into the game wanting to do. I thought that the back four were solid and when I had to make saves I did. I was just trying to take some queues off the striker, I thought his body shape was quite open which is why I went to the right.
“We’re looking forward to it, it’ll be another good challenge and hopefully we’ll get a good result to get to the final.”
