The Light Blues were on their travels for the final time this season and put on a fantastic display in the capital as they were dominant throughout to boost their hopes of retaining the league title.
Speaking to RangersTV after the win in Edinburgh, the striker was happy with the side’s showing throughout the 90 minutes as she netted a hat-trick to help claim another vital three points: “It was a really good overall performance, we obviously scored loads of goals which was nice. Six goals are always good, and it brings our goal difference back up so we are really happy with the overall performance today.
“I am just happy to score and to get the three points, to contribute to three of the goals out of the six was good.”
The striker praised the fast start that the Gers made as they got on the scoresheet four times in the opening 45 minutes, and she believes it was important that the side were clinical as they looked to make up ground in their goal difference tally.
She continued: “We came out of the blocks really fast and sharp, that's what we spoke about before coming into this game was getting a good start. We know that Hearts have obviously taken points off us during the season and we were making sure that wasn't going to happen today, so it was a really strong first half. Obviously, we didn't score as many in the second, but we will take the six.
“We knew that goals were really important today, and we knew the goal difference gap that we had, so to score six is good and it makes it a really exciting last game of the season next week.”
Rangers now ready themselves for what is sure to be a dramatic final day of the league campaign as they take on Glasgow City next Sunday afternoon.
Howat added: “Our full focus is on that now, making sure that we get in tomorrow, rest up, and recover. It is going to be a pretty exciting game on Sunday and we are getting the chance again to play at Ibrox, so what better stadium and place to go and play the last game.”
