The six-goal haul took the Light Blues to the top of the goal difference charts in the division ahead of next weekend’s final day showdown with Glasgow City at Ibrox.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Thomson conveyed his delight: “We asked the girls to play with the same passion and style, which we did. The effort was superb, and they had that belief to accumulate goals which we managed to do.
“Our objective all season has been to bring more quality into our play, and none more so than in front of goals so we can convert the chances that we create. We’ve had a dominance in terms of possession in games all season, but we can definitely add more quality in terms of our build-up play and finishing in front of goal.
“I’m really pleased with the performance and the attitude of the players. They’re a good group, and they were absolutely together and united in their efforts this afternoon. We possibly could have scored more goals.”
The victory tees up what is sure to be a dramatic final day in the SWPL, with the Gers, Celtic and Glasgow City all harbouring realistic hopes of securing the title.
Rangers host Glasgow City at Ibrox next Sunday afternoon, while Celtic meet Hearts at home.
“It’ll be another motivational factor to finish the season at Ibrox,” Thomson added. “It’s every players’ dream to go out and play at Ibrox. We’ve had great success in the past, playing the Benfica game there, and the size of the pitch will come into play as well which will suit us.
“It’s going to come right down to the wire, and goodness knows how they’re going to work it out and the eventualities that are going to come into it.”
