The striker headed home the opening goal in the first-half, before Sam Kerr found the target in the second to secure three points in the Park’s Motor Group SWPL.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Howat said: “It is always a tough game against Hibs, it was physical, there were loads of challenges and yellow cards, but we got the win and we got the three points and that is all that matters going into this international break.
“It has been a tough week coming off the back of Monday night, we were disappointed not to win but I think that is the reaction we needed. We have stuck together as a team and we managed to come out the other side.
“I don't know the last time I scored a header to be honest, they don't come around very often but the goal was really well worked down the right-hand side and Chelsea [Cornet] put a good ball across.
“Luckily I was unmarked and managed to get my head on it, and I think Sam's goal as well was a really well worked goal as well by the team, so it was two good goals.”
Rangers had several chances in the opening stages of the match, with Howat hitting the woodwork early in the game too.
She believes the opening goal allowed them to settle into the game, adding: “We obviously had a couple of good chances before that, and the game was a little bit scrappy, so it allowed us to relax a little bit and get in at half-time and regroup and come back out in the second-half so it was good timing.
“From back to front the defence was solid, obviously Hibs had a couple of breakthroughs, but the centre halves, full-backs and goalkeeper were solid in managing to clear that.
“The centre-mids as well were great at keeping the ball and winning the ball for us and it was an all-round really good team performance.”
