Howat was on the scoresheet twice as the Light Blues netted all five goals after the break and the striker believes the squad took on the half-time message to secure the points in style in the second-half.
Speaking at full-time, she said: “In the first-half I don't think we were at our best and nothing really stuck for us and we couldn't get playing. Credit must go to Hibs because they made it really difficult for us and were really physical.
“In the second-half our quality shone through and we were able to get the ball down and we are really happy to get the three points.
“The message was just to be a little bit more relaxed, we were a bit frantic in the first-half we just couldn't get our foot on the ball and play the way we wanted to so I think we just tried to regroup and we had a good conversation at half-time. We knew we had to pick our standards up and I thought we did that really well in the second-half so we took the message on board at half-time and that showed in the half.”
Howat was happy with her double, but says the points were what mattered most this afternoon.
She continued: “It was a good time to score, we knew the wind was with us so we just got told to take shots and once we got that first goal it enabled us to settle down a bit and play the way we like to play. It was lovely to get on the scoresheet but ultimately three points is what matters.”
Rangers now look ahead to next weekend’s match at Ibrox against Aberdeen and Howat hopes a crowd will get behind the squad.
She added: “We are all really excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to play at Ibrox so we will rest, recover and get back in on Tuesday.
“We obviously played them recently so we know what they are about, they are physical and they are a good young side so we just need to make sure we prepare properly but we are really looking forward to the occassion and hopefully the fans come out and back us.”
