The Gers boss believes patience was important as the squad had to work hard for their opening goal at Rangers Training Centre to pick up another three points in Park’s Motor Group SWPL1.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “It was a very difficult game, in the first half Hibs really sat in and I think we had to be patient. We obviously had to deal with the frustration level of that too but we are used to that now.
“If you look into the second-half our speed of play was a bit quicker and I think funnily enough the wind being against us was better for us. There were some fantastic goals so we are really pleased.
“Once the momentum gets going it becomes a lot easier for everybody, certainly there's no panic in the first half going in at 0-0. If we are going to be hyper-critical I think our quality lacked a wee bit in the first-half not just in front of goal but our quality of pass and choice of pass in the first-half wasn't where it should've been but in the second-half we definitely corrected that.”
Thomson said the strength of the squad is key, and felt today’s substitutes showed ‘desire and hunger’ to impact the match.
He continued: “The bench is so strong, in any team that we put out there are another seven players sitting on the bench that are more than capable and just as good as the starting eleven and I think that shows.
“I think the hunger and the desire of the girls that came off the bench was evident there so again it'll be another hard choice to pick the team against Aberdeen.”
