The midfielder shared his delight at committing his future to Gers as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after signing the new deal, Hagi said: “I love the mentality of the club, I have said it since day one and throughout these three years that I have been here I just fell in love with everything around here.
“Every day when you wake up and know that you have to go in, it is a privilege and it is something that I have been chasing since I was a kid. I feel like it defines me as a person and I am happy I am here.
“It is a happy day for me especially considering the last year, it has been a rough rollercoaster mentally and physically.”
Back on the training pitch and on the road to recovery, Hagi insists there’s more to come from him and he can’t wait to be back in front of the supporters.
He continued: “Since day one, the history that this club has pushes you every single day on the pitch and off the pitch to be a better player and a better person.
“In these years I like to think I have left something behind me and I have given really good memories to the fans but I still feel like I haven't done everything that I want.
"I still have a lot of things to show and give to this amazing group of people in Rangers as well as the fans. I just can't wait until I'm back.”
Hagi says it is important he takes it day by day as he edges ever closer to a return, he continued: ”I am in my final stage just now so things are just round the corner, I am just taking it day by day.
“It is really really hard not to think about the final destination but it has almost been 11 months since my surgery. I have been patient and I have to listen to my knee but hopefully it is earlier than later.
“We are in the middle of the season right now and the focus is on winning trophies this season so all my energy is focused on getting back as soon as possible, listening to my body and managing my future and hopefully better things are ahead.”
