The first-team and Girls’ Academy is now fully-integrated within the footballing department, and McDonald stopped to take a moment as the women were put through their paces at the state-of-the-art facility.
She said: “It’s unbelievable, I had a moment. I went out to watch a bit of training and it is just such a great environment.
“It is one of the best clubs, it is so renowned throughout the world, we have got state-of-the-art facilities, we’ve got access to some of the best people within the game now and just to be in a proper football environment is so important for us in terms of learning and education and being able to move forward.”
Since joining the club McDonald has moved from a part-time role to full-time and is delighted with the progress so far.
She said: “My aim and ambition was always to leave the programme in a better place than it was.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the season and on to next season, McDonald believes expectations will rise as the women’s side progresses.
She added: “Short term we need to be really realistic and we need to make sure about the infrastructure and the sustainability of the programme over the next four or five months.
“We need to conduct ourselves in manner that represents Rangers Football Club and it’s history and all our behaviour that comes with that because we must take great pride in representing a club like this.”
