Itten Looking Forward To Having Fans Back At Ibrox

CEDRIC Itten netted one of Rangers’ most crucial goals of last season when he put Gers in front against Motherwell on December 19.

Trailing 1-0 from earlier in the game, Kemar Roofe had equalised before Itten pounced to see the Light Blues through a massive test of character against the Steelmen.

And while Roofe added some late gloss to the scoreline to make it 3-1, the scenes and roar which greeted Itten’s goal among the players will live long in the memory.

Just imagine then the noise and the celebration which would have greeted that goal had there been a full house, with the road back towards big numbers at Ibrox beginning this Saturday against Arsenal.

The Light Blues will welcome 2000 fans through the turnstiles this weekend, and for a number of players in the squad, it represents the first time they will be able to meet the Rangers support.

Itten can’t wait to ‘celebrate’ with them when he next scores at Ibrox, and speaking to RangersTV, he said: "I am really excited and I have heard so much from the players in the changing room and they have always said to me I need to experience it.

"I am really looking forward to having some fans back, and hopefully soon, all of them.

"I have seen a lot of videos before I came, and it is just amazing. The atmosphere in the stadium is just unbelievable and I am really looking forward to seeing the fans in the stadium and to hopefully celebrating with them."

RangersTV, as well as the official club website, app and social media channels are the only place to follow the Light Blues this pre-season and Itten, asked about his first year in Glasgow, continued: "I have learned a lot. There are a lot of great players here and we have achieved a big thing - we were really good in European football as well, so it was a great year and the most important thing was to get the trophy back.

"We did that and I am really proud and happy about that - it was just amazing and I am just really happy to have been here to be a part of that.

"It was just a great experience to be a part of and it was amazing, but now we are back for the new season.

"We want to achieve the same thing and even more things going into the Champions League and we are really hungry to achieve that."
