A double from Robbie Ure and goals from Jake Hastie and Charlie Lindsay saw the Light Blues finish their preparations with a victory at Rangers Training Centre.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said: “It’s a pleasing performance again to complete pre-season.
"If you look at the first-half we got ahead and scored some terrific goals and in the second-half I thought we started well but overall we are very pleased with not just today but the whole of the pre-season.
“We are asking for the quality to be shown, we get to see it on a daily basis and it is about transferring that into the match as well.
“If you look at the variation and the types of goals that we scored, it is very very pleasing to see the quality come to the forefront against a good test against a good side.”
Looking back on pre-season, Gilmour felt the players faced strong tests ahead of Saturday’s Lowland League opener against Bo’ness.
He added: “We were well aware of the challenge that was going to come from Burnley today so we prepared the lads for it.
“Credit goes to the players in terms of how they applied themselves in the four pre-season games so overall we are very happy.
“We want them to face different challenges and we have managed to do that in the pre-season games we have had.”
