With a 3-0 lead heading into the second-leg, the goalkeeper insists there’s still work to do to guarantee a spot in the play-offs.
Speaking to the media at this evening’s press conference, he said: “We have put ourselves in a good position in the tie but that being said there is work to do and we have to put in a real professional performance tomorrow to get the job done.
“Getting through to the next stage of qualifying is hugely important for us as a club and everything that brings and a game so quick after the weekend is important to get back to winning ways.
“We know the league is the bread and butter, it is what we need to be getting right but these games are hugely important for the club too and it is important that we get the job done tomorrow.”
When asked what conversations have been like following the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Dundee, Butland continued: “It has been honest, it needs to be honest. We looked at some actions from the game, some telling ones that need to improve and that we need to get right.
“There is a massive buy in, I think regardless of results, there has been a massive buy in, the boys are really keen to be successful and try and get things right.

“We have spoken openly about that but whilst we talk about improving, the results still need to come, and they need to come quickly so that is something that is of a constant demand.
“We have been really pushing as a group to be better so with those knocks and disappointments it is important that we learn but I have been here long enough, the fans aren't stupid, they need results, we need results and that really needs to be in the forefront of everybody's mind. No matter the game, the demand for winning games is still as high as it has ever been and no more so than at this moment.”
On how he has found working with head coach Russell Martin so far, the goalkeeper added: “From the get-go I have been really impressed with how he has carried himself, how he has communicated with the group and how he has implemented, coached and shown exactly what is expected of how he wants to play.
“I think you can see in some of the games where we have been at our best particularly last Tuesday against a good side that wanted to press us man for man you can start to see the ideas coming into fruition but I have been really impressed with him, he has been really clear, fair, honest and I think as a player that is what you want.
“You want someone who ultimately wants the best for us and for the club and the staff are putting in serious amounts of time and effort to help us improve. When you see that from a staff, for me personally you can only push you on and drive you on, and I really believe in what we are trying to do.
"I believe in the manager and the style he is trying to implement. When it is backed up with some of the images we see from games that there's really something there we can build on and be really successful.”
