Jack Improving Every Day

RYAN JACK states he is feeling great about his fitness and enjoying his football having got himself back into the Rangers side and getting regular game time in recent weeks under manager Michael Beale.

The midfielder has started three of the Gers’ last four games playing the entirety of each match including 120 minutes in the recent League Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

Speaking to the media ahead of the side’s next fixture he feels he is improving every day and hopes to continue contributing to the side moving forward. He said: “I feel great, I picked up an injury at the start of the season and from then my game time was limited, in and out the team and it was hard to find a bit of form.

“I have trained pretty much every day since the manager has been in, getting used to his style and his way of playing again.”

The Scotland international believes the intensity of training has helped prepare the squad for the tests they have faced in recent weeks and believes it will continue to stand them in good stead for what lies ahead.

He continued: “You train your body that way every day, training is competitive and it is at a high level and standards that the manager holds, that is only going to make us better.

“When we go into matchdays make us stronger, games go on and with extra time as well of you train your body every day to be ready for that then when it does come it is a lot easier on the body.

“We are in a good place, we are fit and strong, we are getting a lot of players back from injury and there is a lot of competition for places.”

The midfielder got on the scoresheet as the Light Blues progressed to the League Cup final recently and hopes he continues to push forward in the games coming up and contribute with further numbers to help the team.

He said: “There is going to be times in different games where you are going to have to sit behind the play and feed the flair players like Ryan Kent and Malik Tillman.

“But sometimes now and again that the manager has touched on saying why can’t it be me being the one that breaks forward and getting on the scoresheet and try help assist or play a big part in goals.

“For me it is just about adapting my all-round game and trying to get better.”

The 30-year-old believes the side are well equipped for the challenges that lie ahead between now and the end of the season with the goals to keep improving each day as they look to carry on the momentum in tomorrow’s league fixture against St. Johnstone at Ibrox.

He continued: “It is always to improve every day, individually and as a team, there is going to be tough tests from now until the end of the season.

“We are in a good place to handle the tests that are going to come our way, for example the cup final, big derbies and away games.

“We are in a good place as a squad, we just want to keep taking it a game at a time as we been and it has worked well for us so far.”

“We are looking forward to it tomorrow, training has been good all week, we are on a good run with momentum, and we just want to keep that going.”
