The Light Blues take on Aberdeen at the national stadium as they look to lift the first silverware of the season.
The squad head into the match on a high following an impressive win over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League and Tavernier hopes they can carry momentum into the cup final.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, he said: “It was obviously a really positive night, we topped the group, and it was a great feeling to see it over the line and show how much character we had in the second-half.
"The defensive display we showed as a team was really good and I am delighted that we topped the group.
“I am really looking forward to the final, it is the first chance this season to get our hands on silverware and we are going to do everything possible to make sure we win the game.
"To start off the week with topping the group in the Europa League and now going into the final it is a fantastic week it is for the players, and the fans.
“We have got to turn up tomorrow, do what the manager asks of us and play to the final whistle.”
Currently 13 games unbeaten since manager Philippe Clement took charge of the squad, Tavernier says they have to keep working hard to continue to build momentum.
He said: “We are always continuing to push each other in the squad, week in week out, that is what the manager demands that we push each other on the training pitch and that is what everyone is doing, we have just got to use this momentum to keep moving forward.
“I have always seen the winning mentality, but I think now we are playing as a team, with each other and we are all really pushing each other hard. We obviously know what the manager wants from us, and it is a reflection of himself.
“He demands perfection, and we want perfection ourselves, we are really working hard at it, and we are moving in the right direction. We are not the finished article, we are still always improving which is good to see and it is just about working as hard as possible and trying to push each other.”
When asked about what he expects from Aberdeen, Tavernier continued: “They are going to try to frustrate us and maybe get into a low defensive block, or they might try and come after us, but it is not too much of what they are going to do it is how we are going to implement our game. We have just got to start the game off really well and make a good impact.
“I especially know the rivalry between the two clubs, and I am sure the boys have now had a couple of games under their belt where they have got a taste of what it means or what they are going to implement in their game.
“We will have our fans singing behind us and pushing us on and if we have all that working together, I can see a good day tomorrow.
“Every game drives me, obviously not having my hands on this silverware for the amount of time I have been here it is disappointing on my part, but it is a new team, it is a new challenge for the team and I am obviously going to give everything and I know the team are going to give everything and it is a great opportunity for us all.”
