The striker fired home on the half hour mark after some superb play from Rachel Rowe to maintain the Gers’ six-point lead at the top of the SWPL table.
It was Ross’ 11th strike of the season in only eight outings, despite missing a large part of the campaign due to injury, and she was thrilled to be the match-winner.
Speaking to Rangers TV, she said: “First and foremost I am just glad to be back on the pitch again, playing and contributing to the team.
“For my goal it was great play from Rachel Rowe to drive from the midfield. She created the opportunity and all I had to do was control it and slot it in the net.
“I was so pleased it went in and the goal won us the game.
“Hearts came and pressed us and made it quite a challenging game.
“I don’t think we were at our best and credit to Hearts for pressing us and making it difficult.
“The goal came at a good time for us, but we probably had another couple of chances in the second half to get a second but their goalkeeper has made some great saves.
“Overall, we are pleased to come away with the three points at the end of the day.”
Ross believes the league leaders had to show a different side to their game against the Jambos and it set them up perfectly for the trip to Partick Thistle on Sunday.
She added: “We worked really hard and competed physically with Hearts tonight.
“I don’t think we were at our best but sometimes you have to grind it out and come away with a 1-0 win.It is an important three points for us.
“Now we have to recover and then we will have the preparation for Partick on Sunday which I am sure will be another challenging game.”
