Kirsty Howat opened her account for the season to set the Light Blues on their way, with further first-half strikes from Chelsea Cornet, Brogan Hay, Rio Hardy and Kathy Hill.
Scotland international Howat made it six just after the hour mark, with subs Katie Wilkinson and Laura Berry also notching before Hannah Cunningham turned the ball into her own net to round off the scoring.
The win keeps Potter’s side at the top of the table, with 24 goals scored in three games and none conceded, but the Gers gaffer believes they could have played better despite the horrible weather conditions.
Speaking to RangersTV, she said: “We scored nine goals and kept a clean sheet and that was probably the best outcome of the night.
“I am not particularly pleased with the performance. It was a bit stop-start and we weren’t quite at it.
“It is tough to say after winning 9-0, but those are the standards we have set. We were 5-0 up at half-time but we said to them we had to hold ourselves to our standards.
“The performance wasn’t there, but it was blustery, we couldn’t find and make the passes because of the weather, but I expect us to find solutions and we were lacking that.
“We were slow to start both halves and that can set the tone for the rest of the game.
“We can’t start slow as it gives your opponent an in. We caused ourselves problems and we have to clear that out.
“I don’t expect us to be perfect but I expect us to be better.”
Seven different Rangers scorers on the night sank the Spiders and Potter was pleased to see the strikes shared amongst the squad ahead of Sunday’s trip to Montrose.
She added: “We have always scored goals from all over the pitch and we need to keep doing that.
“We created more chances than we scored so we have to keep working on that.
“I thought Kathy Hill was outstanding, she held the line well, led the team and she deserved her goal.
“We have another big game on Sunday. We rest and go again and see what we can do against Montrose.”
