The Light Blues ran out rampant 9-0 winners over Dundee United at Broadwood Stadium this afternoon as their dominant display saw them begin February in style.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match the head coach was pleased with the performance overall and praised the side for putting their week’s training into practice.
She commented: “I was extremely happy. We made numerous changes and I don’t think it disrupted our rhythm too much.
“I asked the players to work on certain things during the week and it definitely came out a lot of times.
“They are the main things that I am looking for in these types of games that we bring out what our training week looks like and our focuses going into the game.
“It was important for me for that to happen and I thought the players tried that numerous times so I was really happy with that.
The former Lioness hailed the number of goal scorers on a day where eight different players found the back of the net as she spoke of the fast start the team made as they took the lead after only two minutes of the tie.
She continued: “It sets our tone, we have spoken about it previously that we want to start games a little bit better, a little bit quicker and a little bit more ruthless.
“When we do that it just puts us on the front foot, we know we can’t do that all the time but we are to a level now where I think our fitness levels support that.
“We can do it time and time again and we can maintain that standard and that press. It is something that we try to do when we can and recognising moments and states of the game where we can maybe take our breather and take our rest and get our shape back.
“I think starting the game when we are fresh and ready to go is something that we have definitely got to bring more of.
“It is great to see, the different types of goals that we score as well. We are not just one dimensional and I think you can see that from our performances and players playing in certain positions that bring that to life. To get eight goal scorers on the sheet today is really pleasing.”
Potter spoke of defender Lisa Martinez as she marked her long awaited return from injury with a goal, with the Gers now quickly switching their focus to their SWPL match against Hearts on Wednesday evening.
She added: “It is great to see, we see day in day out week in week out the heartaches sometimes that can come along with being stuck on the sideline for so long.
“All the players want to do is be back out there playing with their teammates and playing for this club.
“It is super to see, you could see with the celebrations how happy everyone was for her and I am delighted to be able to get her back out there.
When asked how they prepare? “Same as always. It is a fast turnaround; we have got to analyse this game as we always do.
“We have got to recover; we have got to do a little bit of extra work for the ones that didn't get as many minutes but then we have got to really knuckle down and prepare for Hearts again on Wednesday.”
