The 19-year-old midfielder joined the Gers on loan from Aston Villa in the January transfer window and she has wasted precious little time in making her mark.
Speaking to RangersTV after this afternoon’s win, McLoughlin beamed: “I’m really happy. It was a game where we had a lot of possession of the ball, and to get my first goal, win, and go through to the next round, is amazing for us.
“My goal? I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sure what I was doing! I didn’t know what happened when it left my foot, and I was shocked when it hit the back of the net. But I’m obviously really happy.
“I’m really enjoying it up here and working under Jo [Potter] which I’ve done before. We have something to fight for and you can see that in the performances; even training is so high intensity. I’m loving it.
“It’s really good for us when we start strong. To get a goal in the first ten minutes was really good, and we kept it up the whole time.
“We kept the pressure on, and scored goal after goal which was really important.”
McLoughlin was one of eight different scorers for Potter’s side this afternoon as they extended their unbeaten campaign in all competitions.
The triumph rubber stamped Rangers’ place in the last eight of the Scottish Cup, with the side having amassed a quite incredible 36 goals since the start of the calendar year.
She continued: “She [Potter] wants us to keep doing what we’re doing. Sometimes you come into games at half-time and we’re dominating possession and scored a lot of goals, but we want to work on the things that are our strengths.
“Sticking to our style of play has been really important for Jo, and to keep putting the pressure on when we’ve scored.
“There is so much to play for. Every game is so important for us in the league and the cup.
“It’s good to be sitting at the top of the table, but we’ve got so many games left. It means a lot when every game is so important.
“It’s always nice to play with a mix of experienced players and younger players; this team has a good blend of that.
“You look at Eilidh [Austin] today, as well as some of the more experienced players, it’s a good mix and everyone brings different qualities.
“It’s good that the more experienced players drive the standards in training as well.”
