The Light Blues will host their city rivals at Broadwood Stadium as the two teams meet with the Gers currently occupying the top of the table in the standings after seven matches.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference, the head coach commented: “We are looking forward to it, we have already had a test with Hearts which was our first real test of the season as many would say and we managed to come through that one.
“It is going to be a good game and we are looking forward to it. I think both squads are healthy so it will be the first real test of the season for us.”
The former Lioness has highlighted the importance of the number of goals her side have scored already in the current campaign so far, with the Gers finding the back of the net on 51 occasions conceding just once.
She continued: “Being ruthless? It is really important and it is something that we said didn't want to ease off at any point.
“We know we have got to be bang at it through the majority of it.
“We had a really healthy head start last season coming into the split, we wanted to make sure that we started again and make sure that we maintain it.
“Adding players to the squad like Wilko, she has come in and she is miles ahead of the top goalscorers in the league already and I think that just shows our intent.
“We have got a lot of strikers on our books; we are not short of strikers at the top of the pitch.
“Even to bring another one to make competition heavier and healthier, I think says a lot about what we want to do. She has shown that she can score goals in big moments and take chances whenever they come her way.”
Potter wants her team to learn from the head-to-head experiences in these types of fixtures at the back end of the season, as they look to lay down the first marker of the campaign with victory in Cumbernauld tomorrow night.
She added: “We play each other so many times that you can start to figure out how one another plays.
“You saw that at the back end of the season where there was quite a few draws and it was a little bit cagey towards the end of the season.
“Everybody knows how each other play; we try to adapt slightly I am sure they will try to adapt slightly too.
“I have watched many of their games now and they tend to do the same things.
“We know how to play against Celtic, we have just got to make sure we have got it between our ears tomorrow and turn up and be mentally ready for it.
“Because I think both teams believe that they are the better team. It is just who shows up on the day and can bring it to the forefront when it matters.”
