The two sides went in at one goal apiece at the break before the Light Blues took control of the contest with several goals in quick succession in the second half before going on to be resounding winners.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory the head coach was happy with the three points and praised the team for their response in the second 45 minutes after conceding to go in level at the interval.
She said: “I was pleased with the result in the end, pleased with the way we took the goals, I think we created many chances again, the biggest thing for me was the result today.
“That is what happens sometimes when you don't stay concentrated 100 per cent of the time, we can't take our foot off the ball, we know that, so it is a good learning curve.
I think we just need to make sure we are learning from that and it doesn't happen too often. We spoke about it and addressed it at half time and we just said as much as we need to make those chances less, we need to start taking our chances more as well at the top of the pitch and I was happy to see that come through in the second half.”
The head coach was delighted with the quality of goals on display from Chelsea Cornet and Mia McAulay in particular and highlighted the strikes in quick succession in the second half to give the Gers breathing space.
She continued: “It always takes the pressure off a little bit; I think it was three goals in nine minutes. It is always nice when that happens just to relax the players a bit more and allow them to play their own game.
“If it is something we can do is try and do that a bit earlier in the game to take pressure off but when these moments happen we need to make sure that we are fighting through them and coming out unscathed, so I was happy with the result in the end.
“I said to Chelsea she trained well all week this week, and just trying to get her to take those opportunities and shoot a little bit more often. She is on fire at the moment and hopefully that continues.”
The Gers will now travel to the capital to take on Hearts in three days time and Potter says the full focus is now on readying themselves for that fixture.
She added: “That is the thing the games come thick and fast, we have not got much time to recover and go again but that is what we have got to do. We have got to make sure we prep and look at this game and put right the wrongs that were out there and get ready for Hearts on Wednesday.”
