The Light Blues netted five inside the first half to leave the home side with it all to do at K-Park, with the display punctuated by yet another hat-trick for Katie Wilkinson in Rangers colours.
It means Rangers have netted 18 goals in their last two outings, which is certainly strong momentum ahead of next week’s crucial Old Firm clash in the SWPL.
Speaking to RangersTV after the triumph, Potter commented: “I’m really pleased with the performance.
“You can see in the some of the goals that we scored were great passages of play. I said before the game that I wanted to see some bits and pieces from training and they definitely did that. I was pleased at full-time.
“The start that we had is so important to us. I think when you start games like that then it gives you the confidence and freedom to play a certain way and relax into the game.
“We could have easily come off it in the second half with the scoreline as it was, but we didn’t and we kept pushing.
“We did really well to score another three goals in the second half.”
Rangers have returned to the irrepressible goalscoring form which characterised the opening month of the campaign, adding tonight’s resounding triumph to last weekend’s 10-2 win over Montrose in league action.
Wilkinson was central to tonight’s victory, grabbing three goals to her name while also being involved in all five goals in the opening period.
Potter continued: “We keep saying a hat-trick for Wilko, don’t we? I think she’s been disappointed that she’s not been scoring more in the last couple of weeks because she sets such high standards for herself.
“She scores or assists in nearly every single game. It’s a tremendous amount of goals for the middle of November. Hopefully she can carry it on.
“The other players around her were excellent as well today; the work rate that Rio put in and she scored an excellent goal which was called offside.
“We’re playing really well and you can see the players are confident, and long may that continue.
“We know that the ability and quality is there, and it’s about putting the players in the position to bring that out on the pitch.
“It’s a responsibility on my part to recognise we needed a bit of a change; we’ve done that and the players have responded excellently to it.
“You could see there was a lot of good performances and it’s looking more like us in the last couple of weeks.”
