The 30-year-old continued her remarkable goalscoring exploits this campaign to propel the Gers to a resounding 8-1 victory over Motherwell in the quarter-finals of the Sky Sports Cup.
Indeed, Wilkinson was involved in six of the eight goals plundered by Potter’s side, and she has credited her teammates for the service they provide.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, Wilkinson said of her three goals: “I really enjoy assisting goals just as much as scoring them.
“The way that the team is set up and the number of runners that we have going forward, it’s always going to happen with the way I play.
“To be on the scoresheet and help others get on the scoresheet, I’m really happy with that.
“The header is my bread and butter, and Rio done really well for the second and it was just a case of making sure it went over the line.
“The free-kick is something we have worked on quite a lot and it was nice just to see one go in.”
The Light Blues have hit the goal trail in recent weeks, with tonight’s eight-goal haul taking the side’s tally to 18 goals in their previous two outings.
They have rediscovered their goalscoring verve at exactly the right moment, with the side preparing for next weekend’s Old Firm showdown in the SWPL.
Wilkinson added: “I think it was important that we had a good performance tonight and we take that momentum into Sunday’s game.
“We want to do exactly the same and keep pushing, get the performance, and score some goals.
“We started off really well [tonight] and the first half was really impressive.
“They tried to put a few things in place to stop us, but we changed a few things up as the second half went on and continued to add a few more goals.
“She [Potter] wants us to be energetic and pressing from the front, giving loads of energy.
“And I thought we showed that tonight right from the front, and I think it showed from where a lot of our goals came from.
“We’ve done exactly what she’s asked us to do tonight.”
