The Gers took the lead inside 30 seconds at Foundation Park as they marched to another SWPL victory to continue their flawless start to the new campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV after the win, Potter commented: “I thought we were excellent first half particularly. We started the game strong and we had scored seven at half time.
“You look at it and we asked for better starts to the games from last season and I think we have really took that on board and that is what I said to the players afterwards, that is what I was really pleased with today is the start that we give ourselves and we just put ourselves on the front foot and it just allows us to be a bit more relaxed and free into the game and play our way so I was really impressed with that first 45 in particular.
“The fast start that we have had is so important. It is stuff that we have got to aim for, we have got to be looking to take our game to teams early in the game because we do know when we get ahead that we are pretty difficult to come back from.
“It is something that we have worked on from previous seasons so I have been impressed to the starts to the games that we have been having so far.”
The former Lioness was impressed with the performance of Laura Berry, with the youngster grabbing herself a hat-trick on her first start of the season.
She continued: “She always scores goals; you know that she gets chances and she’s put some of them away.
“She is really impressive in front of goal and we knew that link up is there that she would have with Wilko would really help her. I think they worked really well together and it is nice that the both of them can put in hat-tricks.”
The head coach also hailed the side for yet another clean sheet as the team racked up a fifth in a row at the start of the campaign, with the Gers’ attention now turning to a massive Champions League qualifying fixture against Arsenal in midweek.
She added: “It is the work rate that we have done, the preparation that we have done.
“It is not by coincidence that we are keeping clean sheets and limiting opposition to minimal chances if any.
“It is stuff that goes on the training pitch and you have heard some of our players speak about it how important it is and the emphasis that we have put on clean sheets this year because we are scoring goals at the other end so we have got to make sure that we are keeping clean sheets at one end as well. It is just as important for us as we have been scoring as many goals as we have been.
“We can’t wait, it is a quick turnaround we have not got much time to prep over the next two days so we have got to make sure that we get that balance right of being on and off the pitch and the work that we can get done and potentially not doing too much because you are going into a three-game week again.
“The first game of a three-game week done and three points which was majorly important for us.”
