Following disappointing defeats in their last two SWPL outings including in midweek at Ibrox, the Gers put things right with a dominant 6-0 triumph over Motherwell this evening.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the result, she commented: “I asked for a reaction from the players and a performance to match as well, and they definitely produced one tonight.
“I was really impressed with some of the patterns of play and lift in our quality because we needed it.
“The girls managed to bring it tonight which helped us get a comfortable victory.
“Message at half-time? It was more of the same.
“We tweaked a few things in terms of where we played with the ball a little bit more.
“I asked the players to have a little bit more width and stretch Motherwell more.
“They were doing a good job of dropping in and staying compact behind the ball.
“We needed to use our wide players, and once we started to do that you could see the gaps opening up a little bit more and we were able to come out and play to the other side.
“We wanted to keep up the speed of play and the tempo, because as you can see it’s difficult to stay in a low block all night and keep doing it without someone making a mistake or getting tired.
“We didn’t really allow our intensity or tempo drop, which was pleasing to see tonight.”
The former Lioness highlighted the performance of top goalscorer Katie Wilkinson, who was back on top form in front of goal having found the target on five occasions.
She continued: “She definitely had five, five definite goals and that is what Wilko is about.
“She scores goals and that is what we want her to keep doing, so again she needed a performance from the other night like they all did and I think it is the perfect way to respond.
“Clean sheet? We have got to do that; we hold our standards high and we haven't been good enough over the last few games at both ends of the pitch and we know that.
“We have had a tough week this week to make sure that we've tried to get over the last couple of results and make sure that we are trying to put it right.
“I asked the players to do that today and they definitely did it.”
The Light Blues now have a week to prepare for the final Old Firm derby and last three league games of the season, with Potter insisting they have to be prepared to give everything in their last outings of the campaign.
She added: “It is going to be full steam ahead.
“We have got to make sure that we have got the right mentality, we have got to be physically night going into the game and we have got to give it our all.”
