The youngster, who is a product of the club’s academy system, will continue her career with the Gers having committed for the next two seasons.
Speaking to RangersTV after signing a new contract to remain at the club she has supported all her life, she said: “Leanne was a massive deciding factor. For me I have to first think about my happiness and I feel like that is when I play my best football, that is here.
“Ever since she has come in she has really given me that trust and I just want to repay that.
“Hopefully over these next couple of years I can continue to improve and enjoy working under her because I think that is when I get the best out of me.
“This season has probably been one of my most enjoyable playing football.
“Obviously at the start of it I probably wouldn't have expected to be where I am right now and the team probably didn't expect to be where we are either but I think that is a real credit to the people that I have around me and the coaching staff that we have.
“We have got a group that are really together and just want to do the best for the club.
“This season has probably been my most consistent and now I just look to try and further that and try improve within these next couple of years.”
The 20-year-old is one of several success stories from the club’s academy, with this campaign in particular seeing many of the Gers’ youth stars given their chance in the first-team, with the midfielder full of praise for the system and its continued development of players.
She continued: “I think it is something that the club are excellent at is bringing through youth players and giving them that chance to showcase what they are about.
“This season you have probably seen it more so than others. The girls that have come up have really stepped up and have took the opportunity that they have been given.
“It is so nice to see people falling in the same path and long may it continue.
“You know May, Laura, Mia, the likes of those players that have come in have played regularly and it is something that is so nice to see and so refreshing that it is not just experience that this club relies on it is also youth and its energy and it’s something long may it continue and I am really proud of.”
The Gers secured a Champions League return with an Old Firm win last Sunday and with a potential title triumph and Scottish Cup final to come, McLeary is looking forward to what lies ahead.
She added: “It is massive, last year we missed out on it which was really disappointing for us as a group. Now to have that opportunity to put this club back onto a European stage for the players that we have here to really showcase what we are about.
“To show what the team is about, is something that probably if you had asked me at the start of the season I would have bit your hand off for it with the position that we were in.
“The girls have dug so deep, the group and the staff that we have behind the scenes have really ground it out and to secure that with a game to go is a credit to the group and I just can't wait for the trip and to see who will get who will face on that stage.
“I am really excited; there is a real buzz about the group after the win at the weekend, something that probably I didn't think would have been possible, I won't shy away from saying that.
“Most of the girls felt the same way at one point but now to get ourselves back in this position to be in with a shout of it at the weekend is a real credit.
“I think I have said it so many times but is probably the word that I would use to sum up this season just the way that we have gone about it quietly.
“Securing European football is massive, yes we are relying on another result but for us we just want to win the game at the weekend.
“We have got another cup final to build into, to go into that with a lot of confidence and to end the season on a real high. We just need to focus on us and what will be will be elsewhere, but for me personally to go into this last day with a chance to win a league title at this club is massive.
“Hopefully we can get it done but if not we have also got a Scottish Cup final against our rivals to prepare for and hopefully end the season on a massive high.”
