It was an impressive display from Russell Martin’s side as a double from Djeidi Gassama and a Cyriel Dessers penalty secured the important victory ahead of next week’s second-leg in Pilsen.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Souttar said: “I think it was a lot more how the manager wants us to play. I thought we started the game really well, we moved the ball about, and we played exactly how the manager wants us to.
"In the second-half we dipped a wee bit and then maybe went back a bit too much but in the first-half we were really good.
“It has been spoken about a lot, but it was important that we came out and played a lot better tonight. We know we can play a lot better. We have worked really hard in pre-season, and the coaching staff have changed the philosophy of what to do so it was important for us that we put on a performance tonight.”
Souttar has been building a new centre-back partnership alongside summer signing Nasser Djiga and praised the 22-year-old for how he has slotted into the side.
He continued: “I think he has been really good, he has got a lot of experience, he has played in Europe for quite a while, and I think the more we play together the more comfortable we will be. He is a really good player, and he has really impressed me and I'm sure he has impressed everyone to do with the club.
“Every defender wants a clean sheet, as much as we want to build-up and play possession football it is important we keep a clean sheet and the four of us are solid and the six so it was a bonus tonight.
“It is a long season. The number of games we play here is incredible and it is going to take everyone in the squad. The more quality and the more bodies we have to help us throughout the season is only going to benefit everyone to achieve our goals.
“One game you are not playing, the next game you are playing but everyone will stick together.”
